How do I control my tank?
Use the W, A, S, D keys or the arrow keys to move, and press Space to fire. Your tank stops at walls, so you can use them as cover.
How many lives do I start with?
You start with 3 lives. Losing all of them ends the game — press Play Again to restart from level 1.
How do I protect my base?
Your base (marked with a heart icon) has 3 HP points. If an enemy bullet hits it, you lose one point. When all 3 are gone, the game is over, so always watch the area around your base.

Tank Battle is a faithful tribute to the classic top-down shooter that defined a generation of arcade and console gaming. You pilot a single tank through a maze of brick and steel walls, hunting down enemy tanks while defending your base at all costs. The goal of each level is simple — destroy every enemy tank on the map — but the tension is real: every enemy is also aiming at your base, and the moment your base's 3 hit points drop to zero, the game is over no matter how many enemies you have left.
The map is more than decoration — it is your best ally and your worst enemy. Brick walls can be destroyed by your shells over time, opening new firing lanes, while steel walls are indestructible and force you to route around them. Use this to your advantage: fire through a wall to hit an enemy lurking behind it, or leave a stretch of wall intact to block an enemy's approach to your base. Understanding which walls are cover, which are corridors, and which are just begging to be shot through is the difference between a frantic scramble and a controlled victory.
New players chase kills. Strong players guard the base. Enemy tanks spawn in waves and make a beeline for your fortress, and a single bullet finding the heart of your base is a one-shot loss. The winning habit is to always keep at least one firing position between the enemy and your base, and to rotate back the instant an enemy slips past your front line.
